Sales Director France (M/F/X)

You don't want to inherit a sales organisation. You want to build one. You start in the region between Paris and Strasbourg and spend the first months in the field yourself: you meet dealers, sign the first customers, and see their first cars sell at auction. Then you hire a team of up to six and take it nationwide.
Location: France, Paris to Strasbourg region - you work independently in the field, with a high share of dealer visits and your onboarding in Berlin.

Your role
- You own the sales targets for France, first in the region between Paris and Strasbourg, then nationwide.
- In the first months you sell in the field yourself: you meet dealers, sign the first customers, and take them through their first sales on the platform.
- You hire and lead a team of up to six sales reps (field and inside sales) and steer them on clear KPIs.
- You work with the teams of our French partner to bring the dealers in their network onto CarOnSale.
- You connect the French market with our teams in Berlin (Product, Operations, Marketing): you bring in what French dealers need and explain our processes to your customers.
- You set up clean processes from day one: customer onboarding, KYC and opportunity management in Salesforce.
- You represent CarOnSale at trade fairs, in trade media, and at industry events.
What you bring
- At least three years of disciplinary leadership of a sales team, with people of very different profiles
- A background in French automotive retail, ideally as a site manager, dealership director, or sales director in a dealer group
- A strong network among French dealers and used-car professionals
- Working knowledge of the French used-car market: registration, taxation, and regulation
- You like building from scratch, and you have the resilience and patience a market launch needs
- French at C2 level, English at B2 level or above for working with our teams in Berlin
- Driving license (category B) and willingness to travel regularly
Nice to have
- Experience in B2B used-car trading or online vehicle auctions
- Experience opening a new market or working in a start-up
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce
