Staff Product Designer - Design Core
hirehire · Remote
Role: Staff Product Designer, Core Platform
Company: Deel
Location: Remote
Job type: Full-time
About Deel
Deel is the all-in-one payroll and HR platform for global teams, about 7,000 people, fully remote and pre-IPO. It is very AI-forward and moves at "Deel speed": ship fast, fix fast, keep iterating.
Deel combines HRIS, payroll, compliance, benefits, performance and equipment management in one platform and supports every worker type in 150+ countries. The team spans more than 100 countries and speaks 74 languages.
About the role
Core sits in Foundation, Deel's top design priority for the coming year. You will work on Home, which spans the whole platform, and on a new, broad initiative. You will set direction and work across the company.
What you are expected to do
Own design for Home and the new platform-wide initiative.
Set direction rather than wait for it; move between Core areas as priorities change.
Work with people across the org, from US sales to risk and compliance.
Act as a key partner to PM and Engineering leads in defining the roadmap: what gets built, why and when.
Connect multiple domains and keep the product experience coherent and consistent.
Mentor Senior Designers and help with hiring: recruit from your network, interview and raise the bar.
Switch context fast, solve the problem and make decisions on your own.
Ship at speed, then keep iterating.
What you need to succeed
Staff-level product design experience across broad, ambiguous areas.
At least 10 years of experience leading end-to-end product design for web and/or mobile applications.
Strong UX and UI expertise, with a history of working with, implementing or scaling design systems.
A track record of cross-functional alignment: explaining complex strategy to leadership and managing stakeholder expectations.
Full-cycle design ownership, from ideation and strategy to implementation and design QA.
Very high craft and a portfolio with a wow effect. A portfolio with at least one case study is required.
AI is your first tool, before Figma or a doc.
You are a builder, mature and autonomous, comfortable in chaos.
A plus
You can push your work to production.
Personal projects.
Experience at fast-moving product companies such as Uber, Revolut or Coinbase, or on products like Notion or Linear.
Design and AI at Deel
Deel looks for designers who actively experiment with AI: improving design workflows, prototyping faster, exploring new interaction patterns or shaping AI-powered product experiences. If you have worked on AI features or used AI tools in your design process, show it in your portfolio.
What you get
Broad, platform-wide scope at a pre-IPO company, with RSUs.
Fully remote, async-friendly work, a strong design team and a career ladder.
Optional access to WeWork spaces, plus extra benefits depending on your employment status and country.
