The Manager / Technical Lead is a hands-on technical delivery leader responsible for both leading the team and actively delivering the solution.
This is not an oversight-only role. The expectation is that this person will personally configure, customize, troubleshoot, and implement the system alongside the team, while providing technical direction, mentoring team members, and increasing the team's overall capability.

Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Solution Delivery
- Actively configure and customize the platform as a member of the delivery team.
- Build and implement complex solution components, integrations, extensions, automation, and other technical capabilities as required.
- Troubleshoot technical and performance issues and personally assist with their resolution.
- Participate directly in development, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization activities.
- Take ownership of technically challenging work rather than simply assigning it to others.
- Use Copilot and approved AI tools to accelerate development, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation while validating the quality of AI-assisted work.
Technical Leadership
- Translate business requirements into practical solution designs and implementation approaches.
- Establish architecture, patterns, development standards, and engineering practices.
- Perform design and code reviews and ensure technical quality.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance delivery timelines with scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Lead through hands-on participation and demonstration, not just technical direction.
Team Development
- Work side-by-side with team members to develop their technical capabilities.
- Coach team members through real configuration, customization, development, and troubleshooting scenarios.
- Upskill the team so that knowledge and capability are distributed rather than concentrated with the Technical Lead.
- Delegate appropriately while remaining willing and able to step in and execute.
- Encourage effective use of Copilot and AI-assisted engineering practices across the team.
- Create reusable patterns, examples, prompts, and accelerators that allow the team to become increasingly self-sufficient.
Delivery Ownership
- Own technical delivery from design through implementation and stabilization.
- Partner with functional and project leadership on scope, estimates, dependencies, risks, and priorities.
- Identify technical blockers early and actively work to resolve them.
- Maintain accountability for technical quality and delivery commitments.
- Clearly communicate technical risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to clients and delivery leadership.
The Expectation: Player + Coach
The Manager / Technical Lead is expected to be both:
- Player: Personally configure, customize, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver.
- Coach: Teach others how to do the work and increase the team's capability.
- Technical Leader: Set direction, standards, architecture, and quality expectations.
- Delivery Leader: Own outcomes, remove blockers, and ensure the solution gets delivered.
- AI Leader: Demonstrate how Copilot can improve day-to-day delivery and help the team incorporate those practices into how they work.
The key principle is: Don't just tell the team how to build it. Build it with them, teach them while doing it, and leave the team stronger than you found it.
