The position is responsible for the administration of educational and related programming in the AIU-operated special education schools. The principal is accountable for providing an educational environment that fosters academic achievement, behavioral growth, and appropriate social functioning for students with disabilities. As the school’s lead administrator, the principal must work with a variety of internal and external constituents including the special education liaisons from the students’ sending districts/schools, family and community members, students, school-based staff, and the AIU central administration.
