Business Development Manager

Job Objective:
To drive strategic business growth and revenue maximization for the university's assigned portfolios. The objective is to acquire, establish, and manage key institutional, corporate, and governmental accounts, ensuring sustainable organizational growth through strategic market engagement, effective sales execution, and conversion optimization across all relevant business units.
1. Business Development Strategy & Revenue Execution
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Business Development Sales Strategy for assigned portfolios to maximize client acquisition, revenue, and market share.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), sales targets, and pipeline conversion rates, regularly providing accurate revenue forecasts to senior leadership
- Conduct in-depth market analysis and competitor intelligence to identify new business opportunities, optimize pricing, and define effective sales tactics to maintain a competitive edge across various potential sectors.
- Take direct ownership of the high-value sales pipeline, conducting direct consultations, managing complex negotiation processes, and ensuring deal closure.
- Serve as the lead Account Manager responsible for the successful execution of all enrollment and revenue targets related to Postgraduate Taught (PGT) and Postgraduate Research (PGR) programs.
2. Account & Relationship Management
- Establish and manage key institutional and corporate relationships (e.g., feeder organizations, corporate training partners, government agencies) to create sustainable, high-value pipelines and contracts.
- Oversee the entire client engagement journey, from initial prospecting and lead nurturing to conversion and contract fulfillment, acting as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts.
- Set up and maintain the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system for the Business Development function, ensuring accurate tracking of all prospect data and interactions, and developing standardized reporting protocols.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing & Communications Department to ensure all promotional campaigns and materials are aligned with sales strategy and effectively target specific client segments.
- Work closely with the Schools (Academic Faculties) and Recruitment and Admissions to align postgraduate offerings with market needs and ensure a smooth application-to-enrollment process.
3. Function Development
- Develop the business case and operational blueprint for future team expansion based on sales performance and functional needs.
- Establish clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) for prospect management, conversion, and collaboration with academic staff.
