Your Responsibilities
The 2026 Weld Manufacturing Engineering Development Program gives recent engineering graduates three experiences over a two year period. The eight-month rotations include assignments in Weld OFP Manufacturing Engineering, Fabrication OFP Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering and Fabrication or Weld PDP— all possible at John Deere locations in the Midwest. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and execute weld processes within each of these areas.
What Skills You Need
Education:
- Currently pursuing or recent college graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Welding Engineering or related Engineering degree with an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 through August 2026
- Desired cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Minimum cumulative GPA required of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Dubuque, Iowa

What Skills You Need
- Previous intern or co-op experience in weld engineering
- Experience with problem solving and working in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products.
Ideally, a strong candidate will also possess:
- Experience with Pro/E, Solid Works, or AutoCAD.
- Experience with tooling design.
- Working knowledge of robotics and design for automation.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience with line design, material presentation, cycle balancing
