Responsibilities

The successful candidate will primarily support the origination and execution activities across a broad range of investmernt banking transactions in the Asia Pacific market, with a focus on the energy and infrastructure sector.

You will work across the investment banking functions of mergers and acqusitions and equity capital markets.

Based in Hong Kong, you will need to work closely with other regional operation hubs include Singapore and other local teams as required. You will also work with other areas of the bank such as debt capital markets, acqusition financing, corporate coverage, financial sponsors coverage, financing and advisory and sustainable finance.

This is an Associate position within the Investment Banking team. You will report into the local manager and work closely with the junior pool on work assignment. You will be expected to demonstrate ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders including learning from seniors of sectors teams, participation in training program and knowledge sharing with peer staff

Primary responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the identification and origination of potential new business opportunities and assisting with development of  new contents and preparation of research and marketing materials;
• Providing day to day transaction support in all aspects of the deal process including preparation of marekting and due diligence materials;
• Building financial models, analysing financial scenarios and producing sensitivity analysis;
• Reviewing documentation, including information memorandum and finance documents;
• Managing other internal processes relating to advisory transactions e.g. updating databases, briefing notes, completing internal system-based processes;
• Respecting all relevant compliance practices and other internal requirements in relation to the execution of advisory transactions

This is an in-scope position under the MRC Scheme. As per the Guidelines on the Mandatory Reference Checking (MRC) Scheme issued by HKAB, which have been endorsed by the HKMA, Authorized Institutions that are hiring staff for Relevant Positions need to obtain specific references from past employers for whom you have worked during the preceding seven years.

Profile required

• Minimal Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Fluency in English (both oral and written) is essential, proficiency in Mandarin (both oral and written) is preferred
• 3 years of relevant experience in energy and infrastructure within an investment bank is preferred.
• Strong executuon and modelling skills preferred

Operational Skills

• Strong Excel modelling and PowerPoint proficiency
• Ability to perform financial projections and valuation analysis
• Review of various documentation, including information memorandum and due diligence documents
• Keeps abreast of evolving industry trends and market updates in Energy and Infrastructure sectors in Asia Pacific region
• Analytical skills and ability to rationalise and communicate complex scenarios

The Financing and Advisory Group sits within the Global Banking & Advisory business line and covers 8 industry sectors. Our industry sector teams are international teams with offices in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. We offer a full range of finance (in particular, project finance and asset finance) and advisory services with a strong focus on delivering the best banking products for each industry sector.
