About the Role
As a Porter, you’ll be the welcoming face of the hotel by assisting guests with luggage, valet parking, and navigating our facilities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth arrivals and departures, maintaining the lobby’s presentation, and supporting the Front Office team in delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests with warmth and professionalism, assisting with luggage and directions
- Deliver and retrieve luggage to and from guest rooms with care and efficiency
- Safely store guest belongings in the luggage room and handle group arrivals
- Assist with valet parking, ensuring compliance with Australian road regulations
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-presented lobby area
- Explain room features and promote hotel services during luggage delivery
- Respond to guest queries about hotel facilities and local attractions
- Support front office operations and complete handovers accurately
- Assist guests with disabilities in accordance with accessibility guidelines
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or system issues
- Uphold hotel grooming, conduct, and safety standards
- Participate in training sessions and departmental briefings
- Handle guest mail, messages, and parcels promptly
- Process payments and follow cash handling procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of guest and staff information
- Promote hotel offerings and contribute to upselling initiatives
About You
- Previous experience in a porter or guest services role preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
