Your New Role
As a Producer, Homepage Programming within the Digital Products & Services’ Programming team, you will help curate CNN’s home surfaces, support audience engagement initiatives, send alerts, and contribute to content optimization for US and international audiences. This role combines strong editorial judgment, multimedia expertise, and audience-focused decision-making to ensure CNN’s journalism is presented with accuracy, clarity, and impact across digital platforms. You will play an important role in shaping how audiences experience news while collaborating closely with newsroom stakeholders to deliver timely and engaging content. Your Role Accountabilities
Curate and package content across digital formats, including live coverage, video, articles, photo galleries, graphics, and interactives, to inform, engage, and entertain US and global audiences.
Apply strong editorial and news judgment to ensure clear, compelling, and accurate presentation of CNN journalism across home surfaces and alerts.
Maintain high standards of accuracy, fairness, timeliness, and editorial integrity in all published content.
Monitor the daily news agenda and audience interests to support effective content prioritization and presentation.
Proactively identify programming and audience needs and collaborate with senior team members to enhance the daily content offering.
Partner with newsroom stakeholders on daily programming decisions and content priorities.
Use real-time and long-term audience insights, analytics, and engagement data to guide story placement and optimization strategies.
Contribute to postmortems and strategic discussions that balance editorial quality, audience needs, and business objectives.
Draft and distribute alerts in collaboration with newsroom colleagues and senior producers.
Optimize content presentation within CMS and publishing platforms, including headline writing, A/B testing, and timely updates to home surfaces.
Qualifications & Experience
4+ years of experience in digital news and publishing, including experience curating home surfaces.
Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to frame content clearly and accurately.
Familiarity with analytics, A/B testing, audience insights, and content optimization techniques.
Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills, with experience working across multiple digital content formats, including video.
Experience using content management systems and digital publishing tools, with the flexibility to support a 24/7 news environment, including early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.
