Job Description

Build the Regional Agency Strategy

Define and own the regional agency strategy for Retail Media, identifying the agency groups, markets, clients and categories with the highest growth potential.
Develop a clear framework to increase Retail Media penetration across agency planning, buying and client investment processes.
Establish regional agency engagement models, commercial priorities and ways of working that can be replicated across APAC and EU markets.
Identify structural barriers preventing agencies from investing in our Retail Media proposition and develop solutions to unlock incremental spend.

Develop Strategic Agency Partnerships

Build and strengthen senior relationships across key media agency groups, holding companies and their specialist commerce, programmatic and performance teams.
Position our Retail Media capabilities with agency leadership, planning teams and client leads, moving the relationship beyond individual campaign briefs toward strategic partnerships.
Develop joint business plans and strategic initiatives with priority agency partners to grow investment across their client portfolios.
Create access to new advertisers and budgets through agency relationships, including brands where we currently have limited or no direct commercial relationship.

Drive Market Execution

Partner with local Retail Media teams to translate the regional agency strategy into market-specific action plans and commercial opportunities.
Identify priority agencies and advertisers by market and support local teams in developing the right engagement approach.
Lead or support strategic pitches, agency roadshows, workshops and senior client conversations where regional involvement can accelerate opportunities.
Build playbooks, best practices and scalable approaches that improve agency engagement capabilities across markets.
Ensure learnings and successful agency models are shared and replicated across the region.

Grow Retail Media Revenue Through Agencies

Build a measurable pipeline of agency-led opportunities and establish clear targets for agency-sourced and agency-influenced revenue.
Increase the share of Retail Media investment coming through agencies and unlock incremental budgets beyond existing trade and shopper marketing relationships.
Work across onsite, offsite, programmatic and other Retail Media solutions to create propositions relevant to how agencies plan and buy media.
Identify opportunities to package audiences, inventory, insights and measurement into propositions that can compete effectively for broader media budgets.

Shape Our Agency Proposition

Bring an agency-insider perspective into the evolution of our Retail Media proposition.
Provide structured feedback on what agencies and advertisers need across products, measurement, insights, buying models, campaign execution and reporting.
Partner with Product, Commercial, Marketing, Data and other regional teams to improve agency readiness and remove barriers to investment.
Represent the agency perspective within the Retail Media organization and help shape our longer-term go-to-market strategy.

Qualifications

10+ years experience within a leading media agency, agency holding company, commerce/media practice or closely related environment, ideally with regional APAC exposure.
Strong understanding of how agencies operate, including media planning, investment decisions, client leadership, trading, programmatic and commercial models.
Established senior relationships across the media agency ecosystem in APAC.
Experience developing strategic partnerships and translating them into measurable commercial growth.
Strong understanding of digital media, programmatic advertising and the evolving Retail Media ecosystem.
Ability to operate strategically while remaining highly execution-oriented. This is a senior IC role with significant ownership, not a people-management position.
Experience working across multiple APAC markets and navigating different levels of market maturity.
Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior agency, advertiser and internal stakeholders.
Commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, build a pipeline and ultimately convert strategy into revenue.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where the playbook is still being built.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means that agencies become a material and scalable growth channel for our Retail Media business in APAC & EU.

You will have built a clear regional agency strategy, established strategic relationships with priority agency groups, created repeatable market playbooks, increased the number of advertisers accessing our Retail Media solutions through agencies, and delivered measurable growth in agency-driven media investment.

Most importantly, you will help shift our relationship with agencies from campaign-by-campaign execution to strategic, recurring media partnerships.
