Join our Core Business Services (CBS) team and you will help support critical business enablement functions that keep our organisation running strong. As a CBS professional within Business Development, you will work across service lines to drive market opportunities, strengthen client relationships and accelerate growth across EY's service offerings.

The opportunity

EY Malaysia is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive market growth and revenue generation across priority client segments.

This role is designed for a results-driven sales professional who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities and converting prospects into long-term clients. The successful candidate will serve as a key representative of EY in the market, generating qualified opportunities and supporting the growth of the firm's Consulting, Strategy and Transactions, Tax and Assurance businesses.

You will work closely with Partners, Directors and client-serving teams to identify market opportunities, develop strategic relationships and contribute directly to the achievement of business growth objectives.

Your key responsibilities

Revenue Growth & Business Development

• Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth across EY service offerings.
• Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive market engagement.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities to support achievement of sales targets.
• Lead initial client discussions and facilitate opportunity conversion through the sales lifecycle.

Client Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
• Engage key decision-makers and senior stakeholders to understand business priorities and challenges.
• Position EY's capabilities and solutions effectively to address client needs.
• Support the development of long-term client relationships that generate sustainable business growth.

Market Engagement & Brand Building

• Represent EY at industry events, networking functions and business forums.
• Develop and maintain a strong professional network across relevant industries.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities and emerging business opportunities.
• Share market intelligence and client insights with internal stakeholders.

Pursuit & Opportunity Management

• Work closely with Partners and engagement teams to develop compelling client proposals and presentations.
• Coordinate pursuit activities and ensure opportunities progress effectively through the pipeline.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting and opportunity tracking.
• Support commercial discussions and negotiations where required.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, account management or client relationship management.
• Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and developing new business opportunities.
• Experience engaging senior stakeholders and managing complex sales cycles.
• Strong understanding of consultative sales and relationship-based business development.
• A recognised university degree or equivalent professional qualification.

Ideally, you'll also have

• Experience within professional services, consulting, technology, financial services or business-to-business (B2B) environments.
• Established professional networks within the Malaysian business community.
• Experience selling solutions, services or advisory offerings to corporate clients.
• Exposure to multiple industries and market segments.
