Focal Point has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Engineer II to join our Custom Development team! This is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of Focal Point’s engineering team, developing and supporting world-class luminaire designs. This position will lead the development of luminaires from concept to production, including prototyping, validation and regulatory testing, collaboration with manufacturing, and ordering system setup. Project management and organizational skills will be honed working on large scale projects with cross-functional teams to deliver on timeline and cost targets. This position reports to the Custom Engineering Development Leader.

The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for leading the development of custom lighting products from concept through production. Working as part of the Custom Development team, this role supports the design, prototyping, validation, and regulatory testing of world-class luminaires while collaborating closely with manufacturing and cross-functional teams. The position also manages project timelines, cost objectives, and ordering system setup to ensure successful product launches, while contributing technical expertise and strong organizational skills to large-scale development projects.
